Goa Decor began with a simple thought — to value what Goa has given us, revive what is slowly disappearing, preserve its stories and traditions and celebrate what makes Goa distinctly Goan.
Founded in 2020 by architect and interior designer Roopa Kunkolienkar, Goa Decor grew from a love for the art, architecture, occupations and everyday traditions that have shaped Goan life for generations.
We work with local artisans, artists and craftspeople to create pieces that tell these stories in different ways — from our Goan windows, heritage-inspired home décor and traditional kitchenware to original paintings, mementos and souvenirs that celebrate the many sides of Goa.
Some of our designs bring back objects that are slowly disappearing from everyday life. Others take familiar Goan forms and give them a new purpose for today's homes. Through our art, we also document Goa's architecture, festivals, occupations, food, landscapes and traditions.
Much of what we make is created by hand, in small quantities, together with local woodworkers, metalworkers, painters, artists and women who work with us in our studio and workshop.
For us, Goa Decor has never been only about making things that look Goan. It is about remembering the stories behind them, giving local skills meaningful work, and finding a place for Goa's heritage in the present.
Because some things are worth carrying forward.

Roopa Kunkolienkar, architect and interior designer, aims to revive the lost traditions of native Goans through her Store "Goa Decor". The store is the outcome of her childhood nostalgia about the rich history of Goa and her passion for art, tradition, and culture. She promotes local artisans,craftsmen, woodworkers, et cetera to handcraft products that reflect the charm of lost Goan heritage of the bygone era. The products range from wall mounts, artefacts, tableware, paintings, furniture, and many more. The products are a convergence of the past and present preserving the beauty of the old while in-corporating contemporary designs. Her initiative is making a positive impact on the lives of the highly skilled locals by providing them opportunities to create these beautiful pieces.
